The Nerd Daily shared the cover and an excerpt from Lauren Ho’s upcoming novel, Sharpen Your Knives. The author of romcoms like Last Tang Standing dives into murder mystery territory for her latest book. Aging movie star Robert West invites all five of his ex-wives to his house in the Highlands to announce that he is dying and is in the process of publishing a tell-all memoir, revealing all of the sordid secrets of all five marriages. None of the women wants their dirty laundry aired, but one will take matters into her own hands and commit murder. Which one is it? And can the other wives figure it out before the police get involved? Sharpen Your Knives is out on March 9, 2027.
Hanif Abdurraqib has been announced as 2026’s Indie Bookstore Ambassador. Abdurraqib, author of A Little Devil in America and They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us, shared, “I am honored to serve in this role because I believe indie booksellers are masters of close attention, and the benefit of that close attention is the ability to place something in someone’s hand that can be transportive, and life-altering.” The Indie Bookstore Ambassador serves as a champion for independent booksellers all year long. On Saturday, November 28, Abdurraqib will be the face of Indies First, a national campaign of activities and events to support indie bookstores. Mark your calendars and keep an eye out for which of your local bookstores will be participating.
Is Connor Storrie joining Billie Eilish in the upcoming adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s novel The Bell Jar? Parkwood National Historic Site, a museum in Oshawa, Ontario, claims that the Heated Rivalry star was spotted filming a scene alongside Billie Eilish for Sarah Polley’s film adaptation. In a reel from their official Instagram page, the museum wrote, “That’s camera wrap on Parkwood’s role in the Sarah Polley directed film,The Bell Jar,starring Billie Eilish in her cinematic debut, along with Connor Storrie.” There has been no official statement about Storrie’s involvement in the project, and the reel has since been deleted.

Another exciting cover reveal! Here’s the cover of Jennifer Galvão’s upcoming debut novel Maria, Maria. The author says that the book was inspired by “a true story about my great-grandfather and a violent encounter on the roadside in Portugal that changed the course of his life… My grandmother never spoke about the incident as a child, and loyally she carried that silence into her seventies, until one day she revealed it to my father.” Galvão says that the fictional story in the novel goes in a different direction than her real-life family story, but the opening pages start from this inspiration. Maria, Maria will be published on February 2, 2027.
