And while the high schooler still acts—playing Paige on the show Mani from 2018 to 2022 and starring in the recently released movie American Summer with Steve Guttenberg,Christie Brinkley and Logan Gray—there was a time when the main role she wanted to focus on was just being a kid.
“I’ve kind of been focusing on school and telling my manager, ‘Hey, can we give it a little bit of a break? Give me some time,'” she continued. “But I told my manager I want to start doing more. So hopefully more will come.”
And if a Good Luck Charlie reboot were ever to come along, Mia noted she’d be down.
“I totally would,” she said on Pucker Upin 2025. “Because I was so young that I don’t really remember a ton. So it would be great. I have a conscious now, so I could actually remember things. I think that’d be really fun.”
Growing up, Mia’s mom and dad also wanted her to have the chance to be a kid IRL and not just play one on TV.
“My parents thought it was really important for me to have a childhood, because a lot of child stars just continue working or they just get burnt out,” she told Entertainment Tonight Sept. 4. “So I just think my parents didn’t that to happen to me. And having an education is also really important in my family.”
But now that she’s entering adulthood, she’s excited to see what’s next.
“I’m hoping that I get some more opportunities with being 18 because that opens up so many more doors for me,” Mia continued, explaining she can now work longer hours on set. “I’m just going to keep enjoying it, because now I’m an ‘adult’ but I’m still a teenager.”
