I’ve already seen enough Resident Evil movie for a lifetime and an afterlifetime. But I will make an exception for a Zach Cregger Resident Evil movie. The man behind Barbarian and Weapons co-wrote and directed a totally new take on the franchise, with Austin Abrams as a medical courier who stumbles through a zombie apocalypse. (On the plus side, as a medical courier he should have reasonable access to replacement organs!) The trailers look like Cregger’s Resident Evil will be the stripped-down survival horror that fans of the original games have hungered for all along.
