Marvel has already turned a lot of their best comics into movies and TV shows — but there are plenty more where that came from.

Marvel’s big crossover event of early 1990 saw various super-villains team up to defeat their enemies, mostly by swapping their usual targets. The Punisher tussles with Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom, while Spider-Man takes down the X-Men hunting Sentinels, and so on. (The villains theory: If we fight heroes that haven’t already beaten us 50 times in the past, maybe they will be less certain how to defeat us and we’ll gain an advantage.) As a story it’s maybe not the greatest hook in the world, but it’s always fun to see unfamiliar faces in movies, especially as the MCU has gotten so repetitive. Jon Bernthal vs Robert Downey Jr. sounds pretty awesome, as does Tom Holland taking down a massive robot.

The Marvel Universe contains some of the greatest fictional characters of the 20th and 21st centuries. And then it also includes these weirdos, misfits, and losers.

This Golden Age Marvel antagonist lost his arms in a machine accident, then dedicated himself to destroying machines anywhere and everywhere. (He’s like Batman, if a MacBook had killed Thomas and Martha Wayne, and also chopped off Bruce Wayne’s arms.) What does that have to do with tigers? Uhhhh, tigers are mean? They hate machines also? Come on; when have you ever seen a tiger use an iMac? Never!
