Nickelodeon star Josh Peck recently revealed his jaw-dropping salaries in Drake & Josh and The Amanda Show.

On the June 25 episode of the Financial Tea with Mrs.Dow Jones podcast, Peck, 39, got real about how much he and his co-star, Drake Bell, didn’t make on the shows.

“We started out making $3,000 an episode on The Amanda Show,” he admitted to host Haley Sacks. “And then by the time we finished Drake & Josh, so that was, like, 60 episodes total for the whole show. The median rate, the average rate per episode was about $15,000. So over four years, we wound up making about 900 grand.”

However, that’s not the amount they actually took home, as Peck pointed out that between paying his agent, manager, and taxes, he “cleared half of that.”

“We were making about $125,000 a year. And people always will say, ‘Well, compared to so many other tougher jobs, like who are you to say anything?” And I go, ‘I’m not,’” the actor — who played Josh Nichols in the mismatched stepbrother sitcom alongside Bell’s Josh Parker — explained.

He continued, “The only reason I say it is because people always assume that it’s so much more, and why would you ever have to work again? But of course, if you made the salary of a dentist or something like that, you couldn’t just stop working after four years.”

Still, as the only child of a single mother, Peck essentially became the primary breadwinner of his family.

“If you have it ingrained in you that you never want to be broke again, you will run like your pants are on fire for as long as you can,” he pointed out. “And I have. And I saw that in myself forever, just a deep financial insecurity that drove everything I did.”

In addition to Peck and Bell, Drake & Josh starred Jonathan Goldstein and Nancy Sullivan as their parents, and Miranda Cosgrove as Drake’s younger sister, Megan. The series aired for four seasons from 2004 to 2007. Meanwhile, Peck appeared in the Amanda Bynes-led The Amanda Show Seasons 2 and 3 from 2000 to 2002.
