DC Studios and Warner Bros’ Supergirl arrived on three-week tracking Thursday morning with an outlook of $55M+ when it opens on June 26.
The campaign is just gearing up, with tickets going on sale Wednesday for the Craig Gillespie-directed feature take on Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s graphic novelSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Unaided awareness –the tracking category where pollsters cite awareness of a movie without being prompted — is pretty even among men and women under and over 25. Overall, unaided awareness is higher than Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu ($81.6M domestic opening), Thunderbolts* ($74.3M domestic opening) and Shazam! ($53.5M). Note that tracking hasn’t fully taken into account presales yet. House of the Dragon‘s Milly Alcock plays Supergirl. The latest trailer that dropped has a lot of Lobo in it, the new antihero role played by Aquaman star Jason Momoa.
