BTS will making a special appearance at the 52nd American Music Awards. This marks a homecoming for them, who made their U.S. television performance debut at the 2017 AMAs, becoming the first Korean group to perform on the show. They are up for 3 awards this year. The Pussycat Dolls and Busta Rhymes have been added to the performer lineup andDarius Rucker will receive the Veterans Voice Award presented by USAA’s Honor Through Action. The award recognizes artists who use their platforms to make meaningful, lasting change in the lives of those who served. Presenters will include Alysa Liu, Anthony Ramos, EJAE, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Hannah Berner, Hilary Duff, Jason Derulo, John Legend, Lisa Rinna, Ludacris, Mariah the Scientist, Matt Rife, Megan Stalter and Paul W. Downs, Melanie Martinez, Nikki Glaser, Paula Abdul, REI AMI, Russell Dickerson, and more. The awards hosted by Queen Latifah will air May 25 on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
BTS will be taking over Las Vegas with a citywide slate of immersive events now until May 31. Landmark locations across Vegas will be activated with the Strip, Downtown, Off-Strip Hotels and digital marquees illuminated in their album’s signature red, alongside citywide welcome messages. Sphere’s Exosphere will feature larger than life ARIRANG themed visuals. BTS THE CITY LAS VEGAS will also include food and beverage offerings and exclusive after party events.
BET Awards nominations have been announced and Cardi B is leading with 6. Kendrick Lamar and Mariah The Scientist have 5 nominations each, Doechii, Doja Cat, Clipse, Teyana Taylor, Olivia Dean, and Latto have 4 each. A$AP Rocky, Bruno Mars, Bryson Tiller, Chris Brown, Jill Scott, Kehlani, Metro Boomin, SZA, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, T.I. and YK Niece have 3 each. Culture’s Biggest Night hosted by Druski will air June 28 on BET.
