Mitski has shared a cover of “Coyote, My Little Brother”—the Peter Lafarge song popularized by Pete Seeger in the 1960s—for the Spotify Singles series. She also cut a new version of her The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We song “Buffalo Replaced” for the series. Listen to both tracks below.

Mitski recorded her Spotify Singles session in New York with Jeni Magaña on double bass and The Land producer Patrick Hyland on acoustic guitar. Both Magaña and Hyland performed with the singer-songwriter during her intimate Amateur Mistake Tour last year. Mitski is currently on a North American tour that runs through September.

The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We followed Mitski’s 2022 full-length Laurel Hell. She announced the new LP with lead single “Bug Like an Angel,” followed by “Star” and “Heaven.” Last fall, Mitski revealed that she is writing the music and lyrics for an upcoming musical stage production of The Queen’s Gambit.
