‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To The Hashira Training’ From Crunchyroll Joins Winter 2024 Theatrical Schedule

Sony’s Crunchyroll has added Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training to the Q1 2024 calendar with a date of Feb. 23.

The feature will show Ep. Episode 11 from the Swordsmith Village Arc, featuring the conclusion to the fierce battle between Tanjiro and Upper Four, Hantengu, and Nezuko’s triumph over the sun. It will be followed by Ep. 1 of the Hashira Training Arc, featuring the beginning of the training conducted by the Hashira in preparation for the forthcoming final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji. This is the first time both episodes have been shown in theaters and they’ll screen in Imax.

Demon Slayer: Kimetus no Yaiba opens on the same weekend as Focus Features’ Drive Away Dolls and Lionsgate/Kingdom Story’s Ordinary Angels in what will be even more wide release product for exhibitors concerned about the theatrical desert of Q1 and Q2 next year.

Recent Demon Slayer movies at the box office include 2020’s Demon Slayer: Kimetus no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train ($21.2M opening, $49.5M U.S./Canada final) and this year’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village ($10.1M domestic and final).

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge published under SHUEISHA’s JUMP COMICS, which consists of 23 volumes and over 150 million copies in publication. The animation production is by ufotable.

The original story is by Koyoharu Gotoge with direction by Haruo Sotozaki.
