Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon has set a milestone, crossing the $100M mark at the global box office through Thursday. As it heads into its third frame, the epic western crime saga from Apple, Paramount and Imperative Entertainment is at $102.1M worldwide, including $45.3M domestic and $56.8M from the international box office

The Leonardo DiCaprio/Robert De Niro/Lily Gladstone starrer premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and began worldwide theatrical rollout in late October. It came out of the gate with strong starts overseas, especially for a period movie with a long running time and at a moment when talent could not promote it due to the actors strike.

Play has been robust since. Last weekend’s sophomore frame saw a 36% drop in holdovers internationally.

Through Thursday, the top overseas markets are the UK ($8M), France ($7M), Germany ($4.5M), Italy ($4.1M/handled by Leone), Spain ($3.5M), Australia ($3M), Netherlands ($1.8M), Mexico ($1.8M), Brazil ($1.5M) and the UAE ($900K).

There is still space in the marketplace with no major tentpoles until Disney/Marvel’s The Marvels starts rollout on November 8. Meanwhile, a streaming date for Killers of the Flower Moon on Apple has not yet been set. And awards buzz could affect that shift.

Based on a true story, and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Gladstone), Killers of the Flower Moon tracks the suspicious murders of members of the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight after oil was discovered underneath their land.
