Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit Announce Announce Tour and New Album, Share New Song “Death Wish”: Listen

The band’s next LP, Weathervanes, arrives in June

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit have announced a new album. Their follow-up to 2020’s Reunions is titled Weathervanes and it’s out June 9 (via Southeastern/Thirty Tigers). The first song they’ve shared from the album is “Death Wish.” Check it out below.

Between studio albums, Isbell and company released the guest-heavy Georgia Blue, where they covered songs by Georgia-reared artists like R.E.M., the Allman Brothers, and Precious Bryant. Isbell had suggested the idea as the state awaited its returns for the 2020 presidential election, and the project benefited organizations advocating for voter participation and racial justice. Isbell has also been at work in Martin Scorsese’s adaptation of Killers of the Flower Moon, joining Jack White, Sturgill Simpson, Robert De Niro, and Leonardo DiCaprio in the true-crime drama.
