Dizzee Rascal to be Awarded MBE Honor by British Empire

Dizzee Rascal has been named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours, as the BBC reports. The grime pioneer has been made an MBE for his services to music. (“Lovely stuff,” he wrote on Instagram.) Electric Light Orchestra co-founder Jeff Lynne will also be made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). “I am extremely humbled and grateful to be awarded this honour for my services to music. To be recognised for my work is an extraordinary privilege,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

Last year, M.I.A. was made an MBE, while Elvis Costello was named an OBE. Dizzee Rascal’s new album E3 AF is due out October 30.
