My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way has shared rough versions of four new solo songs: “Phoning It In,” “Crate Amp,” and “Welcome to the Hotel.” Listen to them all below.

In a statement posted along with the tracks, Way said that he had been working on some of the tracks with the intention of eventually releasing them as singles. However, he said that they may not see a formal release. “I’m calling all of this stuff Distraction Or Despair, since that seems to be the two things I keep shifting between. Probably a lot of other people too,” he wrote, adding, “I’m just winging it, keeping it casual.”

My Chemical Romance performed together for the first time in seven years in December, but some of the band’s other reunion dates in Japan, New Zealand, and Australia have been postponed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. They’re still slated to hit the road in North America for a full reunion tour later in the fall, and have teased forthcoming new music
