Among the more popular characters in the Fast & Furious franchise is Sung Kang’s Han Lue, who was introduced in Tokyo Drift and died in the lead-in to the movie’s third act. Thanks to the franchise winding back the clock, we were treated to three more appearances from Han, and when Han’s death was eventually revisited, viewers learned that it was Deckard Shaw who was driving the car that killed him.

With Deckard Shaw having since transitioned from an antagonist to a protagonist, which was most recently on display in the spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, many Fast & Furious fans have demanded Justice For Han (or #Justice4Han, if you prefer), as there still hasn’t been any movement towards Deckard atoning for killing Han. Well, Hobbs & Shaw writer and executive producer Chris Morgan is promising fans that Justice For Han is coming, they just need to be patient. In his words:

Chris Morgan also said shortly after The Fate of the Furious was released that the next of the two main Fast & Furious movies will somehow address Han Lue, and Fast & Furious 9 director Justin Lin was shown wearing a #Justice4Han shirt on set back in October. So while Hobbs & Shaw didn’t touch on the character whatsoever, the signs are seemingly pointing towards Han having some kind of presence in the coming years of the franchise.

Heck, with the way the Fast & Furious movies have grown more fantastical and over-the-top, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s revealed that Han is still alive and will make a shocking return in front of his old friends. Since we’ve reached a point where super soldiers are now on the table, surely it’s not too far a jump to use technology to resurrect Han. Or maybe he never actually died, but his body was improved Bionic Man-style.

One thing worth remembering is that it’s incredibly unlikely that Jason Statham will reprise Deckard Shaw in Fast & Furious 9 since he was busy making Hobbs & Shaw with Dwayne Johnson. So Deckard’s involvement in whatever’s being set up for Justice For Han will have to wait for a later movie, be it Fast & Furious 10 or a potential Hobbs & Shaw sequel.

Keep checking back with CinemaBlend for more news concerning Justice For Han and the rest of the Fast & Furious franchise. Hobbs & Shaw will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting November 5, and Fast & Furious 9 races into theaters on May 22, 2020.
