Wait Times On Other Popular Disney World Rides Are Bonkers Thanks To Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

If you want to check out Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World on opening day, things actually aren’t looking too bad. If, however, you don’t want to mess with the crowds, the good news is that today is a great day to do pretty much anything else at Walt Disney World, as the resort is seeing some pretty low wait times on some usually quite bust attractions.

While wait times have been fluctuating up and down today at the other three parks, overall, some of Walt Disney World’s most popular rides are seeing much shorter than normal wait times. At one point, Avatar Flight of Passage had a wait time under an hour which is pretty much unheard of even a couple years after opening.

As I write this, the wait time for Flight of Passage is actually slightly over an hour, at 70 minutes, but that’s still next to nothing for the attraction that has been consistently the most popular in all of Walt Disney World since it opened.

Wait times have also dropped at other locations. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom has a wait time of around an hour, also lower than usual, especially for the summer. Space Mountain’s current wait time is low you can practically walk on the ride.

Now that nobody else is getting into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for the day there’s always the possibility these wait times will start to shift. People who have already been to Batuu may head off to do other things and those who aren’t getting in will need to find something else to keep them entertained.

Still, for those people who decided to skip out on opening day of the new land, it looks like the parks have been fairly easy to deal with, which is always nice.

If, however, you want to brave Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Things don’t actually look too crowded there either. While the virtual queue system was in use early, as of this writing the land is available to just walk into and the wait time for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run has been hovering around 120 minutes. It’s not a short wait by any stretch, but many Walt Disney World attractions have seen waits that long on a somewhat regular basis. so it’s nothing out of the ordinary.

The only downside is that Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run doesn’t currently offer a FastPass+ option, while the other attractions do.

It seems like today is probably a pretty good day to be at Walt Disney World, but then again, pretty much any day is a good day to be at Walt Disney World.
