Clint Eastwood is mourning the death of his longtime partner, Christina Sandera.

The 94-year-old actor released a statement on the death of Sandera, 61, to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, saying, “Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much.” No details on the cause of death are available at this time.

The pair reportedly met when Sandera was working as a hostess at Eastwood’s Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, and started dating in 2014.

Eastwood has been married twice — to Margaret Johnson from 1953-84 and to Dina Ruiz from 1996-2014. He also had longterm relationships with actresses Sondra Locke and Frances Fisher.

The Oscar-winning director is notoriously private about his family life, but he has eight known children.

ET spoke with Eastwood back in 2021 about continuing to act and direct into his 90s. His 40th film as a director, Juror No. 2, is currently in post-production.

“If you’re lucky enough to make enough good [movies], you’re still doing it when you’re a 70,” he joked. “You have to like the characters, even if they’re bad guys. It has to be a challenge to bring to life — sometimes it works pretty good.”
