Billie Eilish is revealing the dream she had years ago that made her realize she needed to break up with her boyfriend at the time.

The Grammy-winning singer and her brother Finneas O’Connell were chatting with Amelia Dimoldenberg Friday for an Oscars Nominees ‘Pre-Luncheon’ Luncheon when Eilish opened up about the memorable dream.

After Dimoldenberg asked the music duo if they wrote their 2016 hit song “Ocean Eyes” about Cillian Murphy, they both jokingly agreed that they “probably” did. O’Connell added, “I probably wrote it about Cillian, yeah. Big fan of Cillian’s eyes in Dunkirk.”

But Eilish quickly added, “Batman is the one though.” Dimoldenberg followed up with, “Is that your favorite superhero?” to which the “Bad Guy” singer responded, “Yeah? I don’t really know much about superheroes,” but that she did like 2008’s The Dark Knight specifically.

That led the singer to then share she needed “to be real” for a moment.

“A couple years ago I had a dream about Christian Bale and it was at a little cafe in the sunlight, and it made me realize that I had to break up with my boyfriend at the time,” she revealed. O’Connell proceeded to burst into laughter while Dimoldenberg dropped her mouth in shock at Eilish’s comment.

“No, like genuinely. I woke up [cue her pretending to open her eyes] and I came to my senses,” the Happier Than Ever singer quipped. “It’s over.”

Though Eilish didn’t name which boyfriend she was referring to, she was most recently reportedly linked to The Neighbourhood’s lead vocalist Jesse Rutherford, but they reportedly broke up last year.

Eilish and O’Connell are nominated for best original song at the 96th Academy Awards for “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack. They are also set to perform at the ceremony on March 10.
