Tom Petty Soundtracks Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer Watch

The first trailer for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI has arrived, and it’s soundtracked by Tom Petty’s 1989 song “Love Is a Long Road.” The video shows exactly what you would expect from the game—high-speed pursuits with cops, ritzy street takeovers, and general debauchery atop cars and boats alike—with some added Florida touches like alligators. There’s still a long wait for the game, however, as GTA VI doesn’t arrive until 2025. Watch the trailer below.

Back in 2018, Rockstar Games added real DJs into Grand Theft Auto Online by way of new nightclubs, including Solomun, Tale of Us, Dixon, and the Blessed Madonna. (The latter even punched out a bouncer in the trailer for the addition.) For that same game, Rockstar also included a Frank Ocean radio station, too.

Petty died back in 2017 from an accidental drug overdose from a variety of pain medications. A number of posthumous releases have come out since then, including the 2018 box set An American Treasure and 2020’s Wildflowers & All the Rest (Deluxe Edition), both of which include some previously unreleased material.
