Questlove, Local Natives, Leon Bridges, Warpaint, and six other artists have crafted signature tacos to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Los Angeles restaurant HomeState’s Band Taco program. The program recruits artists to create and name signature tacos for sale through HomeState; all proceeds go to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, an organization that raises money to assist music industry workers struggling to make ends meet.

The anniversary celebration kicked off today with Local Natives debuting their “Local Native” taco. Silversun Pickups’ “Wild Kind” taco will take over October 9-15, followed by Best Coast’s “Californian” taco. The month continues with the “Hand Clap” taco from Fitz and the Tantrums, the “So Good” taco by Warpaint, the “Stones Throw” taco by Peanut Butter Wolf, the “Moon Beam” taco by Lord Huron, and Questlove’s “Paesano” taco. (Questlove also previously created a taco for the program in 2015.) HomeState’s celebratory slate concludes in December, with Leon Bridges’ “Ft. Worth” taco.

Over the course of the Band Taco program, HomeState has recruited a variety of artists to the cause. Phoebe Bridgers created the Maxine taco (named after her dog) for the restaurant in 2022; Chicano Batman, Vampire Weekend, and Spoon have also all contributed to the cause in recent years.
