The free jazz quartet featuring Moor Mother launches Protect Your Light with the single “Free Love”
Irreversible Entanglements have signed to stalwart jazz label Impulse! for a new album, Protect Your Light. The free-jazz quintet—of Moor Mother, bassist Luke Stewart, trumpeter Aquiles Navarro, saxophonist Keir Neuringer, and drummer Tcheser Holmes—has previewed the record with “Free Love,” which they call a “universal message that provokes unity through a love that lives free, the love that lives in you.” Listen to it below, and scroll down for the album art.
The band recorded the Open the Gates follow-up at Rudy Van Gelder Studios in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, the birthplace of John Coltrane’s A Love Supreme among other classic recordings.
