Listen to Obongjayar’s New Song “Just Cool”

The London-based Nigerian artist’s first solo single since issuing his debut LP last year

Obongjayar is back with his first single of the year. Listen to “Just Cool” below. Out via September Recordings, it is the London-based Nigerian artist’s first solo song since releasing debut album, Some Nights I Dream of Doors, last year.

In a press release, Obongjayar said:

Everyone is on edge! How could we not be?

Where’s our united humanity? Where is our united love for our brothers and sisters and children looking for safety and opportunity? Where is the love for our planet?

We’re constantly being lied to, used and squeezed of whatever energy is left in us. We’re in a pit fighting amongst ourselves while the bloodsuckers incite division and cheer from high above while poking at us continuously. Be cool and let cool.

Since Some Nights I Dream of Doors, Obongjayar has guested on Little Simz’s No Thank You track “Point and Kill” and Loshh’s “K” from the EP Akọle.
