Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Cancel Latest Tour Date Due to Illness

The band plans to reschedule their second consecutive canceled show on the U.S. leg of their tour

Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band have postponed their second concert in a week. Earlier today (March 11) Springsteen announced that their March 12 show at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut would be postponed “due to illness.” Their March 9 show at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, was postponed earlier this week. The band has not disclosed who was ill. Their next scheduled tour date is March 14 at MVP Arena in Albany, New York. Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Springsteen for comment.

“Due to illness, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s concert at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday March 12 has been postponed,” Springsteen wrote on Twitter. “We are working on rescheduling the date so please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled show.” E Street Band guitarist Stevie Van Zandt said “No need to be anxious or afraid. Nothing serious. Just a temporary situation. We will all be back in full force very soon.”

Guitarists Van Zandt and Nils Lofgren, saxophonist Jake Clemons, and violinist Soozie Tyrell have all missed shows on the band’s 2023 tour after contracting COVID-19, though none were postponed. The band has 15 dates remaining in the U.S. leg of their tour before heading to Europe in late April. Additional U.S. dates are scheduled for this Summer and Fall.
