New Order to Headline Primavera Sound 2023

They join fellow synthpop greats Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys—as well as Kendrick Lamar, Blur, and many more—at the Madrid and Barcelona editions in June

New Order have joined the Primavera Sound 2023 bill. They will headline this year’s editions in both Barcelona and Madrid, joining a lineup that includes fellow synthpop greats Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys, as well as Kendrick Lamar, Blur, Rosalía, and FKA Twigs, among others. New Order will play Barcelona’s Parc del Fòrum on June 1 and Madrid’s Ciudad del Rock, in the Arganda del Rey municipality, on June 8.

The announcement comes on the 40th anniversary of “Blue Monday.” In other New Order news, the band and Joy Division are among this year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees, which actually don’t suck this year.
