Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem at the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris today (January 20). Following the swearing-in of Harris as vice president, Jennifer Lopez sang a medley of “This Land Is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful,” to which she added a line from her 1999 single “Let’s Get Loud.” Watch Gaga and Lopez’s performances below.
“My intention is to acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and passionate for a future where we work together lovingly,” Gaga tweeted earlier today. “I will sing to the hearts of all people who live on this land.”
A virtual parade is scheduled for today. Another inauguration event featuring Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons, and more will take place tonight.
Gaga stumped for Biden on the campaign trail last November, giving a speech and performing “Shallow” and “Yoü and I” in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Back in 2016, she sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
