100 gecs are the 2020-21 Artists-in-Residence at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. The duo will kick off its residency this Friday (October 23) with an online Q&A that’s co-moderated by Pitchfork staff writer Noah Yoo and NYU student/musician Cam Franklin. RSVP to the free, public event here.

“The effortlessly authentic duo of 100 gecs exemplifies what we hope all of our students are able to embody as they journey through the Clive Davis Institute and beyond,” said JD Samson, a member of Le Tigre who’s also an assistant arts professor at the Clive Davis Institute. “Constantly shifting their modalities of production and performance, Laura [Les] and Dylan [Brady] are communicating with gestures of experimentation and fluidity that are viscerally shifting the boundaries and possibilities of popular music.”

Earlier this year, 100 gecs released 1000 gecs & The Tree of Clues, a remix album of their 2019 debut 1000 gecs.
