The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards will take place tonight (August 30) in Brooklyn, New York. The broadcast and live stream of the main ceremony are set to begin at 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific) on MTV and MTV.com, as well as the MTV mobile apps for iOS/Android. (ViacomCBS networks such as BET, Comedy Central, and VH1 will also simulcast the show.) Originally scheduled to take place in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, this year’s VMAs will feature remote performances from across New York City. You can also catch the pre-show, which will also feature artist performances, interviews, and more, before the main ceremony.

How to Watch the VMAs Pre-Show

The MTV VMAs pre-show begins at 6:30 p.m. Eastern (3:30 p.m. Pacific) and will feature 90 minutes of performances and celebrity interviews. The whole ceremony is free to stream on MTV.com. Among the artists slated to perform are Chloe x Halle, Machine Gun Kelly (featuring Travis Barker and Blackbear), Jack Harlow, Lewis Capaldi, and Tate McRae. MTV’s Nessa Diab and Jamila Mustafa are slated to host the pre-show; special correspondents include Kevan Kenney and Travis Mills.

How to Watch the VMAs Main Ceremony

The main 2020 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific). You can watch the broadcast on MTV, MTV.com, the MTV mobile app, or on various other ViacomCBS channels via simulcast (BET, Comedy Central, VH1, etc). Keke Palmer will host this year’s ceremony. Presenters for the main ceremony include Bebe Rexha, Drew Barrymore, Bella Hadid, and Jaden Smith. Among the artists scheduled to perform during the broadcast are the Weeknd, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, BTS, Miley Cyrus, and Doja Cat. Check out the full list of nominees here.
