Ryan Breaux, Frank Ocean’s Brother, Dead at 18

Ryan Moore, the brother of Frank Ocean, has died, the Thousand Oaks Acorn reports and Pitchfork can confirm. Moore, who was also known as Ryan Breaux, was killed in a car crash early Sunday morning (August 2) in Thousand Oaks, California. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Ryan Moore as one of the victims in the crash. He was 18 years old.

In 2016, Frank Ocean released Blonde—his second album that weekend after Endless. It ended with the song “Futura Free,” which features an interview with Ryan Moore. The weekend the album was released, Moore reacted to his feature in real time on Twitter. “MY INTERVIEW IS ON THE ALBUM,” he tweeted. “I WAS LIKE 11 MY VOICE WAS SO HIGH.”

The interview with Ryan Moore from “Futura Free” was transcribed and published in the Boys Don’t Cry magazine released alongside the album. When asked with whom he would like to switch bodies for 24 hours, he responded, “Probably my brother, just to see how much work he has in one day, just to be in the life of him.” The final question is, “What would you do on your last day on Earth?” Moore replied:

Everything that was on my bucket list, like I don’t know, there would
just be a lot of things I’ll do, probably spend a lot of time with my
family and tell the I’m going away and probably… I don’t know.
