Arca has announced a vinyl reissue of her debut mixtape &&&&&. Originally released in 2013 via Hippos and Tanks as a single 25-minute track, the mixtape has now been remastered and parsed out into separate tracks and will be reissued on physical media and digital platforms on September 18 via PAN.
“I wanted to make something that was my best work. I listen to it very fondly today,” Alejandra Ghersi said in a press release. “A sense of possibility, a sense of the unknown; punk attitude, respect for classical music and formality; cyberpunk, anime, sexual tension; trauma, innocence, fear of death; kink, lots of weed, and wanting to connect with people, but not on the terms of a status quo. That kind of sums up &&&&& for me.”
Arca’s latest album KiCk i, the first in a four-part series, was released in June. Prior to that, she released the 62-minute project @@@@@. Read the Cover Story, “Live From Quarantine, It’s the Arca Show.”
