See All the Looks from Valentino’s Extravagant Couture Show in Beijing

There’s opulence, and then there’s a Valentino haute couture collection. The luxury Italian house swarmed Beijing this week with the opening of the Sanlitun flagship store, coinciding with a runway filled with extravagant gowns worthy of your next holiday party, bejeweled fencing helmets, and taffeta bows the size of a small child. The extreme lavishness extended to the makeup, courtesy of artist Pat McGrath, with metallic alien skin and Valentino’s signature red worn as lipstick. “Daydream is the chosen title for the Beijing event, which unfolds across different actions all aiming at depicting the inclusive layers of Valentino today,” the brand said in a press release. “Symbols, colors, decorations merge one into the other as the Italian spirit of the Renaissance meets the opulence of the Chinese splendor.”
