Another House Alum Is Heading to The Good Doctor

The Good Doctor executive producer David Shore is bringing in another cast member from his former show House. TV Line reports that Robert Sean Leonard, who spent eight seasons playing Doctor Wilson on the Fox drama, will have a guest-starring role in The Good Doctor Season 3.

Leonard will play Shamus O’Malley, “an avid sports fisherman,” in Episode 3, which airs on Oct. 7. Shamus will be a patient admitted to St. Bonaventure Hospital after a fishing accident that will have Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) and his team questioning how to attend to Shamus’ injuries without damaging his “prize catch.” That definitely sounds like this man is going to be connected to or partially eaten by a fish. This show is excellently weird.

The actor is not the first House alum to appear in the series. Lisa Edelstein guest-starred in Season 2 as Glassman’s (Richard Schiff) doctor overseeing his cancer treatments. According to TV Line, there’s no plans for Edelstein to return in Season 3, but it would be quite the reunion if she did.

Meanwhile, we are still holding out hope that Jesse Spencer will make room in his Chicago Fire schedule to come play with Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore). He told us he’d be down for it!

The Good Doctor Season 3 premieres Monday, Sept. 23 at 10/9c on ABC.
