The PondHawks, a Chicago based, genre defying duo, is creating a buzz both nationally and internationally with their new single, “Afraid of Love.” In the style of the Beatles, yet with their own unique sound and vibe’ “Afraid of Love” makes a statement. Mario and Jorie have a musical chemistry that is unmatched. Their harmonies are beyond this world and their musicianship is tight and powerful.

Wishing to touch the hearts of many they write songs together keeping that in mind. “Afraid of Love” relays the message that if you are afraid to take a chance and show emotion you could be missing out. Life’s not a dress rehearsal, so go for it…

The instrumentals on the song are powerful with a mix a rock and a classical flare, but again sounding like an old Beatles style song. It is not hard to guess that one of their major influences are The Beatles.

I’ve heard several of their other songs and I believe this to be the most addicting thus far. Their songs are written and sung in many different styles and they pursue many different messages. They are entertaining and I would like to see them perform in person. Something tells me they put on a great show.
