Get your slide show presentations ready — Mindhunter is almost back. Nearly two years after the Netflix series had us all locking up our shoe collections, the creepy David Fincher drama will return for Season 2 on Aug. 16.

The first season of Mindhunter followed agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) as they teamed up with Professor Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) to form the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit. Working out of a Quantico basement, the trailblazing trio investigated and interviewed serial killers at a time when “serial killer” was still an undefined idea.

Mindhunter Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

While the first season was set in 1977, Season 2 will jump ahead to cover the Atlanta Child Murders of 1979-81. As if that weren’t unsettling enough, Charles Manson is also confirmed to play a role in the new episodes.

The second season, which is reportedly eight episodes long, will be directed by Fincher, Andrew Dominik, and Carl Franklin.

Mindhunter Season 2 premieres Aug. 16 on Netflix. Season 1 is now streaming.
