What could possibly happen in a hospital in just a few hours? As it turns out, a whole lot, if everyone’s new favorite doctor show The Pitt is to be believed. The show stars Noah Wyle (who previously co-starred on ER) as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, a senior attending physician at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital ER overseeing the horrific injuries and illnesses as patients come through the double doors. Each episode shows one real-time hour in Dr. Robby and his residents’ day, starting when the shift begins at 7AM and ending with the finale at 9PM that night. People come in afflicted with everything under the sun — a degloved foot, a nail gun injury, testicular torsion, mercury poisoning from face cream — and Dr. Robby and his crew get straight to work, putting their myriad personal problems aside to save lives.
