Lionsgate Skipping Stage Presentation At CinemaCon, But Will Still Have Presence At Movie Confab

EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate won’t be taking the stage at this year’s CinemaCon which runs April 13-16 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, however, the studio will still be representing on the ground.

Details are still coming together in regards to how Lionsgate will be celebrating the theatrical business at CinemaCon this year. Last year, in addition to their CinemaCon presentation with Jenna Ortega, The Wkend, Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, the studio held a cocktail party following that event. In addition Ballerina star Ana de Armas met with press at the John Wick Experience in Las Vegas.

Lionsgate’s marketing department during the time of CinemaCon will be extremely busy with prepping the opening of Michael, we hear, which hits theaters around the world on April 24.

With the carryover success of The Housemaid (coursing north of $250M WW), and Michael and Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Lionsgate is looking forward to a solid box office year.

It’s not out of the norm when a studio skips CinemaCon. Sony has skipped the Caesars Palace Colosseum in recent years. Sony will kick off Monday night, April 13. Warner Bros has is holding their presentation on Tuesday night, followed by Universal on Wednesday late afternoon, and Amazon MMG Studios on Wednesday night. Paramount and Disney will round out the exhibitor-major studio conference on Thursday.
