He was kind of like Deadpool before Deadpool. The character has appeared in various cartoons before, but he’s never been portrayed in live-action before. DC has discussed the possibility of aLobomovie for well over a decade, with filmmakers like Guy Ritchie andMichael Bay involved at various points. One presumes that if Momoa’s performance inSupergirl is well-received, it could reignite those discussions again.

These major stars could have played some of your favorite DC Comics’ heroes onscreen. But they all said no for one reason or another.

Warren Beatty, Superman”,”photo-description”:”

Before the producers of 1978’s Superman decided on relative unknown Christopher Reeve as their Man of Steel, they offered the role to several high profile actors. High on their wishlist was Warren Beatty, then one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. In 2017, Beatty said he was offered the part but “didn’t think it was a good idea to put a comic strip into a movie.” As he weighed taking the job, he got some long undewear and put it on to see what he might look like in a Superman costume. The image was so ridiculous, Beatty said, that he immediately “picked up the phone to say, ‘Just forget it!’” Beatty would eventually change his mind about comic strip movies; he starred in and directed 1990’s Dick Tracy. It should be noted, though, that his character did not wear Spandex.
