The Men Announce New Album Buyer Beware, Share Video for New Song: Watch

The Men are back with the 10th studio album of their career. The Brooklyn garage-punk staples will release Buyer Beware on February 28 via Fuzz Club. Leading that record is the new song “Pony,” which comes with a trippy music video in which animated doodles come to life over colorized footage of various real-life scenarios, ranging from old timey dance sequences to someone dressed up as a horse. Watch it below.

“This one picked up the name ‘Pony’ cuz it felt a little sugary and sweet,” the Men’s Mark Perro said of the lead single. “It was one of those things that just came out when we talked about the song and it stuck. I’m really happy with the fuzz tones we got on here, and the harmony vocals from Nick [Chiericozzi] and Jess [Poplawski] take this to another level. Lyrically, it’s about that transitional moment – when the jig is up.”

Buyer Beware follows the Men’s 2023 full-length New York City, which was inspired by their time exploring the city during lockdown. Recorded direct to tape and captured by recording engineer and frequent collaborator Travis Harrison, the new album leans into the energy and aggression of the Men’s live shows as well as the psychedelia of their earlier records.
