Ben Folds and his fifth wife, Emma Sandall, are officially divorced.
According to documents obtained by ET, the Ben Folds Five singer first filed to end their six-year marriage in December, citing irreconcilable differences. The date of separation is listed as Nov. 20, 2023. The former couple’s divorce date is listed as Feb. 27, 2024.
The documents also state that ”The Song for the Dumped” singer has been ordered to pay Sandall $650,000 in monthly payments of $27,083.33, over the course of 24 months, pay her $210,000 in Australian currency from a National Australian Bank account, sign over the title to a 2016 Honda CR-V, pay her car insurance for an additional 12 months, and is required to pay $50,000 in additional funds for Sandall to furnish her future home.
In addition, Folds has been ordered to pay $475,000 should Sandall have an interest in their Nashville home.
“Immediately upon receipt of said funds from husband, wife shall take the necessary steps to execute a quitclaim deed relinquishing all right, title, and interest to the marital home to husband,” the documents state.
Folds, 57, and Sandall tied the knot in a Hawaiian ceremony in January 2017.
The “Family of Me” singer was married to Anna Goodman from 1987 to 1992, Kate Rosen from 1996 to1997, Frally Hynes (with whom he shares twins Gracie and Louie) from 1999 to 2007, and Fleur Folds from 2007 to 2011.
Folds has yet to address his recent divorce. However, the split comes three months before he is set to hit the road for his Paper Airplanes Request Tour, where fans request the songs they want to hear live via a paper airplane.
“The last time I did this on tour the response was overwhelming, with literally hundreds of paper airplanes with song requests being launched on cue from fans at the start of the second half of each of my concerts,” an announcement read. “It’s the purest, most low-tech form of engagement that creates a special bond with my audiences.”
