Travis Scott: Utopia [Cactus Jack/Epic]

The long-teased Travis Scott album Utopia did not arrive quietly. The night of its release, a companion movie made in collaboration with some big name directors screened in theaters across the United States. Utopia was to be presented at a concert that would livestream from the Pyramids of Giza, but was canceled. The lead single “K-Pop” featured two of the biggest artists in the world: the Weeknd and Bad Bunny. Scott’s first full-length since the 2021 Astroworld tragedy features an all-star lineup of artists including Beyoncé, SZA, Bon Iver, Drake, Sampha, Young Thug, Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, and Future.

Carly Rae Jepsen: The Loveliest Time [604/Schoolboy/Interscope]

Last year, Carly Rae Jepsen released an album called The Loneliest Time. With her lonely era behind her, she’s back with a companion album called The Loveliest Time. “It’s time for celebration and for all the lessons we have learned to burst into joyful action,” Jepsen said in a statement. The album includes collaborations with James Ford, John Hill, Patrik Berger, Rostam Batmanglij, and Kyle Shearer.

For fans of Richard D. James, the well has not exactly run dry—just yesterday his unofficial Soundcloud offered up some previously unreleased music. Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760 is significant as the first official Aphex Twin release in five years. It was led by the release of the A-side.

Post Malone: Austin [Mercury/Republic]

It was just last year that Post Malone released his fourth album Twelve Carat Toothache. His new one Austin arrives amid his full band tour. Co-produced by Post, Louis Bell, and Andrew Watt, it features Post playing guitar on every song. “I don’t know necessarily if I’ve been waiting to make it; it’s always something that’s kind of been wanted to be made, if that makes sense,” he recently told Apple Music 1. It features the singles “Green Thumb” and “Something Real.”

Beverly Glenn-Copeland: The Ones Ahead [Transgressive]

The Ones Ahead is the first album from Beverly Glenn-Copeland since 2004’s Primal Prayer, released as Phynix. The announcement was led by opener “Africa Calling.” “Over the years, in many conversations, I have come to understand that I share an undefinable, unnamed feeling—a calling—with many other members of the African diaspora, a bone-deep need to explore and express our heritage,” he said in a statement.

Jessy Lanza: Love Hallucination [Hyperdub]

Love Hallucination, the first new album from Jessy Lanza since 2020’s All the Time, features collaborations with Jacques Greene, David Kennedy, Jeremy Greenspan, Paul White, and Marco “Tensnake” Niemerski. It includes the singles “Don’t Leave Me Now” and “Midnight Ontario.”

Bethany Cosentino: Natural Disaster [Concord]

With Best Coast on indefinite hiatus, Bethany Cosentino has released her debut album under her own name. She explained in the announcement for Natural Disaster that it’s more than just an aesthetic decision. “I am excited about being just Bethany Cosentino for a while and figuring out who I am outside of the ‘Bethany from Best Coast’ box I’ve lived in for such a long time.” It features the lead single “It’s Fine.”
