Milo Aukerman, frontman for Southern California pop punks Descendents, is recovering from “a mild heart attack,” as his bandmates revealed in statement on Instagram today (July 28). They assured fans that Aukerman is doing fine, and that he is “expected to make a full recovery from surgery” following the incident, which occurred last night. The band also announced that they have canceled their upcoming European tour dates to allow time for Aukerman to heal. Find Descendents’ full remarks below.

Descendents are currently scheduled to embark on a North American tour in August following their European trek. It is unclear whether or not those dates will be affected. Pitchfork has reached out to Descendents’ representatives for additional information.

We are truly sorry, but we have to cancel the upcoming European shows.

Our singer, Milo, had a mild heart attack last night. He’s doing fine, and is expected to make a full recovery from surgery, but will need a few weeks to recover before we can hit the road again.

Hope to see you soon.
