Feeble Little Horse Announce Tour and New Album, Share Video for New Song: Watch

“Tin Man” leads the Pittsburgh quartet’s sophomore LP, Girl With Fish

Pittsburgh quartet Feeble Little Horse have announced their sophomore album, Girl With Fish, which arrives June 9 via Saddle Creek. Today, the band has also shared a music video for the lead singlem “Tin Man,” and announced a string of North American tour dates. Find all of that below.

“The song is about people who use sadness to control your actions because they know you will sympathize,” vocalist Lydia Slocum said of “Tin Man” in a press release. “Oftentimes when these people are investigated there really is not much inside them, they just use emotions to get what they want out of other people. I have my qualms with this sort of person.”

Guitarist Ryan Walchonski said of the recording process: “‘Tin Man’ is one of the songs that represents a new style of writing for us as a group. This song went back and forth through Google Drive links, trying to come up with the best iteration of the song that we were all happy with; vocals recorded, scrapped and re-recorded, drums scrapped and re-recorded, the chorus at one point was completely different.”

Drummer Jake Kelley and guitarist/producer Sebastian Kinsler added that the “drums are laid back and paying homage to hip-hop drums” and “the guitar parts were inspired by ‘Six Shooter’ and ‘Voicemail’ by a Country Western, and ‘Breadcrumb Trail’ by Slint.”

Feeble Little Horse released their first album, Hayday, last year. The group had actually meant for its debut to be its final record. “When we made Hayday, we wrote really quickly to get it done before he moved away and we couldn’t make songs anymore,” Kinsler explainedd. “But we realized making music with each other was too fun to walk away from. For this album, we got to take our time with every decision that went into it.”
