Cardi B has announced a new song called “Hot Shit.” It’s produced by Tay Keith and will come out this Friday, July 1. She broke the news with a commercial during the BET Awards and later confirmed it over social media. Check out a teaser clip for the single below.

Cardi B’s last album, Invasion of Privacy, came out in 2018. “Hot Shit” will be her first single as a solo artist since 2021’s “Bet It.” After releasing the latter track, Cardi tapped Summer Walker and SZA for their extended version of “No Love,” and she joined fellow Bronx rappers Kay Flock and Dougie B for their song “Shake It.”

These days, Cardi B has spent most of her time collaborating with other artists. She linked up with Lizzo (“Rumors”), Normani (“Wild Side”), Migos (“Type Shit”), and Summer Walker (“Bitter”) in 2021 alone. Cardi B also stopped by the 2021 Grammy Awards to perform “Up” and “WAP.”

Outside of music, Cardi B gave birth to her second child, interviewed Joe Biden ahead of the presidential election, and got back to acting for the upcoming comedy film Assisted Living. Cardi B also stayed true to her Bronx roots by partnering with the New York City mayor’s office to help cover burial expenses for the families of the 17 people who died in the January 9 Bronx apartment fire.
