George van den Broek, better known as the UK singer-songwriter Yellow Days, has announced his next studio album. A Day in a Yellow Beat arrives August 7 via Sony/RCA. He’s also shared the latest single from the LP, along with a Kevin Lombardo-directed music video. Watch Yellow Days’ nostalgic visual for “Love Is Everywhere” below.

A Day in a Yellow Beat follows Yellow Days’ debut full-length Is Everything Okay in Your World?, which came out in 2019. The new album features contributions from Mac DeMarco, John Carroll Kirby, Nate Fox, and more.

In a press release, Yellow Days refers to his new sound as “upbeat existential millennial crisis music.” He continues:

I’m trying to brand my own version of ironic dance music full of depressing truths about feeling distant from your friends, or a sense that nothing is worth anything. The dance beat being different from the lyrics is a metaphor for drug usage, the way you’re dealing. The track is funky as hell because you’re not handling yourself correctly… This is really my first record where I can let it fucking all out.

A Day in a Yellow Beat also includes previously-released single “Treat You Right.”
