The zine chickfactor has announced a birthday tribute show for the late David Berman featuring Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich, and more. “Bike Chain Rain: A Birthday Tribute to David Cloud Berman” will be held at Portland, Oregon’s Bunk Bar on January 4, 2020, which would have been Berman’s 53rd birthday. Berman died on August 7.
Pitchfork contributor Douglas Wolk will serve as MC for the event, at which musicians, writers, poets, fans and friends will play Berman’s music, read his work, pay their own tributes and tell stories. Proceeds will benefit Write Around PDX. Check out the full list of guests at the chickfactor site.
