The shortlists for the 92nd Academy Awards nominees is in. In the Best Original Song category, the shortlisted potential nominees include Thom Yorke’s “Daily Battles” from Motherless Brooklyn, Beyoncé’s “Spirit” from The Lion King, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo’s “Letter to My Godfather,” from The Black Godfather, Elton John and Tim Rice’s “Never Too Late” from The Lion King, Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from the Elton John biopic Rocketman, Randy Newman’s “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away” from Toy Story 4, and more.

Up for Best Original Score nominations include Nicholas Britell for The King, Alexandre Desplat for Greta Gerwig’s Little Women remake, Daniel Pemberton for Motherless Brooklyn, John Williams for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, Randy Newman for his work on Marriage Story, Michael Abels for Us, Hildur Guðnadóttir for Joker and others. During last year’s awards ceremony, Ludwig Göransson took home the Best Original Score Oscar for his Black Panther compositions. The Oscar for Best Original Song went to Lady Gaga for her A Star Is Born ballad “Shallow,” which was co-written by Andrew Wyatt, Anthony Rossomando, and Mark Ronson, and performed by Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
