Burial Previews New Song From Sega Genesis Remake: Listen

Hyperdub is celebrating its 15th anniversary with Konsolation, an 11-song compilation exclusive to a Sega Mega Drive music cartridge. The special edition Mega Sg console, which is limited to 1,000 units globally, is made by Analogue, the hardware company that specializes in modern remakes of classic video game consoles. The accompanying compilation features new tracks from Burial, Ikonika, Jessy Lanza, DJ Taye, and more. Preview Burial’s “Starlore” below.

Earlier this year, Analogue commissioned Arca to produce the startup music for the Mega Sg console. In 2017, the company had Squarepusher do the same for the Super Nt—their remake of the Super Nintendo—and also did a limited-edition collaboration of the console with Ghostly International.

Hyperdub recently collaborated with Adult Swim for another 15th-anniversary compilation. HyperSwim features another new Burial song, too, “Old Tape.”
