Every day Rise of Skywalker gets closer, the more we realize there’s a ton to cover in the final movie of the Skywalker Saga! Such as Kylo Ren’s enigmatic Knights of Ren finally getting more screen time than flashbacks that introduced them in prior films. A brand new TV spot is teasing the Dark Force team’s debut. Check it out below:

The 30-second spot titled “Fate” really packs a punch, doesn’t it? Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker starts off with a voiceover where he says “Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi” as a standoff between Rey and Kylo Ren is set up. Then, at the eight second mark, there they are. The Knight of Ren. If you didn’t catch them, here they are:

Finally! Brief, yes! But seeing the group of six together on a desert planet alongside other images of Rey, Chewbacca, and the rest of the Resistance fighting team in the same location looks to position the Knights of Ren in a key place in the film. The commando team stand on a cliff, each wearing armor and wielding weapons of their own, yet having some uniformity in their black attire. How will they play into the upcoming movie?

As we learned in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Kylo led these elite warriors in order to do away with Luke’s Jedi Order. Adam Driver’s character denounced his Jedi name of Ben Solo and became the Master of the Knight of Ren. The team includes other former students and was operating under the guidance of Supreme Leader Snoke. Now that Snoke has been killed, it will be interesting to find out how the dynamics have shifted.

This new shot of the Knight of Ren does seem to indicate Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewy, C3PO and BB-8 (who will get to finally all be together) may come across them on the desert planet they go to. Whether an action scene breaks out involving the team or the Knights of Ren are simply following them in the shadows is yet to be seen.
