Strokes guitarist Fab Moretti—not to be confused with the Italian art dealer Fabrizio Moretti—has joined forces with the Italian art dealer Fabrizio Moretti (not to be confused with the Strokes guitarist) for a new art exhibition at Sotheby’s New York. The auction house will display In Passing from December 15 to 18, before auctioning the art on the last day. Moretti, the art dealer, will display more than 20 Old Master paintings and sculptures from the 14th to 18th Centuries, while Moretti, the Strokes guy, provides immersive sound installations.

Moretti, the art dealer, said in a press release that he was “intrigued” to collaborate with “another Fabrizio who shares my name,” referring to the Strokes guitarist, who, confusingly, is also a visual artist. Moretti (the art dealer) goes on to describe Moretti as “a man who is both a respected visual artist and musician who excels across disciplines, much like the artists featured in the exhibition, and to re-discover these themes with him. We hope that each viewer, by bringing their own perspective and background to the forefront of this immersive experience, will develop an emotional connection to the history of these pieces.”

Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s Director of eCommerce Development, described the pairing of Fabrizio and Fabrizio Moretti as “a natural fit.”
