Prepare for even more scandal. CBS All Access announced on Wednesday that sexy drama series Why Women Kill has been renewed for a second season. The series is styled as an anthology show, and the new season will focus on all-new characters, who will also be dealing with various forms of betrayal.
In a statement, CBS All Access’ executive vice president of original content, Julie McNamara, said, “Why Women Kill has had a phenomenal first season. Under the creative direction of Marc Cherry and the incredible performances of the cast, the series has become one of our most streamed original series. We look forward to bringing fans even more of this wonderfully soapy dramedy in its second season and can’t wait to see what themes Marc explores next.”
Why Women Kill‘s first season centers on three women from three different time periods — Ginnifer Goodwin‘s Beth Ann, Lucy Liu‘s Simone, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste‘s Taylor — as they deal with very different versions of betrayal from their spouses and other loved ones. Jack Davenport, Sam Jaeger, Reid Scott, Alexandra Daddario, Sadie Calvano, Leo Howard, Alicia Coppola, and Katie Finneran also star. No word yet on whether any of the stars of the first season will return in new roles for Season 2.
Why Women Kill‘s first season finale will debut Thursday, Oct. 17 on CBS All Access.
