When trippy ’80s classics collide!
If you ever wondered what became of baby Toby from the mind-bending 1986 classic film Labyrinth, well, you might be surprised to find out that he’s all grown up now and still spending his time among Jim Henson’s wild little puppets.
On Wednesday, Netflix treated fans to a photo of Toby Froud, who stopped acting after dancing with the Goblin King (David Bowie) in that iconic fantasy-drama, returning to the world of the creator who made him famous and worked as a design supervisor on The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, the streaming service’s prequel to Henson’s 1982 film The Dark Crystal (sans the red striped pajamas, of course).

Froud is the son of a long-time Henson collaborator, concept designer Brian Froud, who also worked on Labyrinth and helped build the world and characters of The Dark Crystal alongside wife Wendy Froud. Toby Froud wrote in July that he was “honored” to be able to work with his father on Age of Resistance.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance isn’t Froud’s only grown-up foray into this world either; he’s also worked as a sculptor on other family features like The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, and Kubo and the Two Strings.
However, it’s still probably the only project that would inspire one of the series’ stars to make a joke about “the babe.” Clearly, the babe still has the power.
